The 2019 Syrah, a pleasingly purple colored wine, exotic and floral on the initial sniff with violet and lilac. Keep swirling to reveal layers of cherry and blueberry pie, then spice as the wine opens up further; clove, thyme, sage and the Syrah’s ever-present licorice note. Impressive weight on the palate, and bold flavors of plum and pomegranate with vanilla and ever-softening tannins allow for a lingering and pleasant finish. One of our most age-worthy wines, enjoy now with a good decant, or cellar five to ten years. Pair with roast lamb or a hearty winter soup.
